    Flashback to explain → fine
    Random future interviews mid-arc → narrative self-sabotage
    ---
    I'd say if an author keeps cutting to the future to reassure you the MC becomes important, it means the present story isn’t strong enough to stand on its own.

    This author is way too obsessed with narration. Cutting to a flash forward to narrate the scene instead of just showing it is absolutely wild obsession with narration.
